Wastewater from Dairies & Cheese Production
Wastewater produced by commercial dairy processing facilities is high in BOD, TSS and often phosphates. Operations discharging to municipal sewers can face costly levies due to capacity limitations at the municipal treatment plant or for exceeding increasingly stringent discharge parameters. Facilities without access to municipal treatment must meet higher environmental standards for surface or subsurface discharge. For operations using onsite treatment, the wastewater can be nutrient deficient, which can result in ineffective secondary treatment and the potential of non-compliant discharge.
Newterra designs and manufactures modular, membrane bioreactor (MBR) wastewater treatment systems that are effective for the high BOD wastewater of food and beverage processors. Treated effluent delivered by Newterra systems meets regulatory requirements for a wide range of discharge options and water reuse applications.
Additionally, Newterra can provide enhancements to existing facilities that have lagoon or pond treatment and require additional aeration.
