Wastewater from Wineries or Beverage Processing

Wastewater produced by wineries is high in BOD and can have large fluctuations in pH. As a result, operations using lagoons can experience significant odor issues during
periods of limited rainfall. New facilities or those undergoing expansion have limited treatment options when there is limited space available for wastewater management.

Newterra’s Clear3 MBR (membrane bioreactor) wastewater treatment systems are effective for the high BOD wastewater of food and beverage processors. Treated effluent delivered by Newterra systems meets regulatory requirements for a wide range of discharge options and water reuse applications. Our treatment systems can include nutrient supplementation and pH adjustment to create optimal biodegradation of BOD and other contaminants.

Clarification, pre-filtration and/or Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) can be added by Newterra as pre-treatment.

For those systems with less stringent discharge requirements, Newterra offers the Clear3 MBBR system, as well as the ARGOS SBR system. For operations with legacy lagoons or ponds that just require additional aeration or mixing, we offer the Triton 2.0 surface aerator/mixer.`
