Public Utility Potable Water

Protect your community or facility with proven technologies that meet strict EPA standards.
Newterra works alongside customers to minimize media consumption, improve operational efficiency, and support reliable performance. Learn more about our comprehensive approach.

Newterra is media-agnostic, selecting activated carbon or ion exchange resins based on source water, treatment goals, and site constraints—not brand preference—so each system is designed for optimal overall performance.
Newterra guides you from concept to reality with tailored system designs and transparent cost planning. Our pilot systems simulate full-scale performance, providing data-driven insight to ensure reliable, effective PFAS treatment.
Our scalable systems deliver high-efficiency PFAS removal. We offer specialized media, including GAC and ion exchange, to address diverse contaminants and site-specific treatment needs.
From start-up to long-term service, Newterra ensures system performance through calibration, routine maintenance, and responsible waste handling. We manage media replacement and disposal in compliance with environmental standards.

Newterra delivers engineered PFAS treatment solutions across a range of water applications, including potable water and wastewater. Each system is designed to address varying source water conditions, regulatory drivers, and operational requirements.
At Newterra, we harness innovative technologies to transform water and wastewater challenges into competitive advantages. Backed by deep technical expertise, our team evaluates your specific challenges to determine the most effective solution—or combination of solutions—for your application.

Activated Carbon Adsorption Systems For Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) Water Treatment

Modular, configurable units deliver reliable potable water at any scale.

Scalable PFAS adsorbers meet strict state, federal standards for any site.

Customizable and scalable, our pressure vessels are capable of operations where full backwash is required, and all vessels are NSF International Certified.

Wide range of media, from bulk granular activated carbon (GAC) to ion exchange resins to handle organics and other contaminant removals.

Our commercial and industrial reverse osmosis (RO) systems are renowned for efficient, high-purity water production.

PFAS treatment extends beyond system delivery. Newterra approaches each project as a long-term partnership, supporting customers through system design, commissioning, media management, and ongoing operation. This lifecycle-focused approach helps ensure treatment systems continue to perform as conditions, regulations, and operational needs evolve.
No matter the vessel, media type, or application, we partner with you to deliver cost-efficient and technology-driven approach you can rely on.
Several proven technologies are available for PFAS treatment, with the most common being granular activated carbon (GAC), ion exchange (IX), novel adsorbents and membrane systems such as reverse osmosis (RO). The most appropriate technology depends on PFAS concentrations, water chemistry, flow requirements, site constraints, operational preferences, and lifecycle costs.
The choice between GAC and IX depends on source water quality, treatment objectives, site constraints, and lifecycle costs. GAC is often selected for its long operating history and proven performance, while ion exchange may be preferred where space is limited or longer media run times are desired. A detailed water quality review and, when appropriate, pilot testing can help determine the best solution.
Yes. PFAS treatment can often be integrated into existing facilities through the addition of GAC vessels, ion exchange vessels, membrane systems, or modular treatment systems. Feasibility depends on available space, hydraulic capacity, existing infrastructure, and treatment goals.

From pilot test to engineering support to operator training and media exchange, we have the right expert ready to work with you from beginning to end.
